Hi! My name is Jasmijn. I am 24 years old and I am combining the masters Technology and Operations Management and Supply Chain Management.

I first heard from TeMa from one of my housemates, who was in the TeMa Board at that time. She was always very enthusiastic about it and when I started with TOM and SCM, I decided to become a member. In my first year, I was active in the Sustainability Event Committee. This year, I decided to apply for the Conference Committee. I participated in the TeMa Conference in the previous years, and I really enjoyed the event. I was curious in how it would be to be responsible for the organization of such a big event. 

As treasurer I was mainly responsible for the budget and all in- and outgoing financial flows. As the location is one of the highest cost components, I was responsible for finding the perfect location and was the main contact person for the Euroborg. I did not have any experience with making a budget before (only in some courses). However, I was not really nervous for it. I got a lot of help from Jasper (treasurer of the TeMa Board) and could always ask him questions. So, not having any experience with being a treasurer is definitely no problem!

In the beginning, I was quite nervous when I had to call a company representative. I found it difficult and did not really know what to say. However, after having several calls, I became more experienced and had a better feeling regarding what to say and what not. I think that is one of the main skills I improved due to the conference, which is also something which I can use during for example job interviews. 

I really enjoyed the TeMa Conference of 2021! It was a nice experience to be responsible for the organization of such a big event. Everything went perfect, we received many compliments from speakers, companies and participants. So the hard work paid off.
