Hi everyone,
In this blog I will tell you about doing a Board year at TeMa and in special about what it is like being the Secretary & Promotion officer, which is an amazing experience! First I will introduce myself: my name is Larissa Staal and I am 22 years old. I finished my Bachelor Business Administration with the track Technology Management and will start my masters next year. Besides my board tasks, I am a student assistant for first-year bachelor students. The TeMa board is a parttime board year which means there are opportunities to do something else as well. This was one reason why I wanted to do a Board year at TeMa. Furthermore, I really enjoyed being part of some Committees TeMa offers and everyone is really nice to each other. Also, I wanted to develop myself and I was ready for a new challenge. A Board year is perfect for this: you will learn a lot, you are responsible for the study association with your fellow board members, you will get to know a lot of new people and above all, you will have an amazing time!
As a Secretary I am responsible for all the external communication with our members and the other study associations. Every morning I answer my emails and every month I send the Newsletter to keep our members informed about all the activities TeMa organizes. Next to this, I am responsible for the agenda of the board and I plan all our activities and mixes with our committees. Another task is to provide information on our website and keep all the information up to date. Furthermore, I am responsible for our member administration, the minutes of our meetings and I guide the Sustainability Event Committee and the Media Team.
As a promotion officer I am responsible for the promotional material which is shown via our social media. Herefore, I work closely with our Internal Relations (Femke) since she makes the promotion planning.
What I like the most about a Board year is meeting a lot of new people and visiting several events. In a short period, you will get close with your board members, your active members and the other board members.
In short, as a Secretary you have a very diverse task package which makes this function challenging. And above all, being part of the TeMa board is an amazing experience! You will develop yourself professionally and socially and therefore I can recommend it to everyone.

Love,
Larissa
