Board function: External Relations

Dear all,

Today I give you the opportunity to get a glimpse into the life of the External Relations of the TeMa board. I hope to convince you why it is so much fun and above all educational to choose for this position within the TeMa board. I still enjoy it very much and I can say that I have learned enough about myself and about what I want in the near future. If you have any questions after reading my experience, you can always text or call me: 0611822097.

Being the External Relations of the TeMa board is mainly about contacting companies. Both with companies that have been a partner of TeMa for years and with new companies that you think can be valuable to your fellow students. At the beginning of the year, you schedule conversations with companies and ensure that the annual schedule is filled with career events. I will do the same later in the year, but that will happen to a lesser extent. Then you bring the events to a successful ending throughout the year. I make contracts to ensure that all agreements are clear. I do this for both the board and the committees. In addition to managing the general acquisition policy, you also supervise 3 committees that are in contact with companies. This is a very nice part of my board year as you and your committee ensure that the events are filled with interesting companies for your fellow students.

There are several reasons why I have chosen to do a board year. The main reason is that I thought it would be a lot of fun to have a great year together with 4 other cool students. You get the opportunity to organize many (new) activities and you also get to know a lot of new people. Like members of TeMa but also people from other associations and from the FEB. So it is very good for your network. Mainly as External Relations it is very good for your network. My network has been expanded with many people who are very relevant for my future career. All in all, it is a super nice and fun year in which you learn a lot. You have a lot of parties and other nice events. The fact that I am delayed for a year in studying was definitely worth it! So I would recommend everyone to do a board year, whatever position you choose.
