Sustainability Event

On the 8th and 25th of May, the Sustainability Event Committee will be hosting a sustainability-oriented careers event! While the general focus of this event is on sustainability in supply chains and businesses, this year the event takes a step further in answering the question “What’s in it for you?”. The aim of the event is to connect students with companies who provide sustainable business opportunities and get a look behind the scenes on what is happening in the field.

The first day, May 8th, includes a Sustainable Conference at Zernike's Energy Academy Building and a cooking workshop at the Wiebengacomplex. The conference will consist of motivational speakers from the municipality of Groningen, Arcadis and Philips, discussing energy transition. These companies will also be invited to participate in the discussion panel to address their role in the energy transition and the issues they face. 

In addition, we hope to inspire students to adopt sustainable decision-making in their daily lives. This is why we organized a sustainable cooking workshop on the evening of the 8th of May. TeMa members will get a chance to learn how to cook delicious sustainable dishes, which will be shared through a new digital TeMa student edition cooking book.  

On the second day, May 25th (change of date, was 9th of May!), multiple organizations will be visited. The first half of the day will be spent paying a visit to B&S Group (formerly known as HTG) where a warehouse tour and a presentation will be given and a case study will be performed. Furthermore, we will visit Top Dutch Solar Racing to learn how we can use this solar energy. 

You can sign up for all three parts of the event or exclusively the sustainability conference, the cooking workshop or the in-house day. This can be indicated in the choice menu after clicking join. If you want to enjoy the entire event, but cannot fully attend every part, please sign up for the entire event and message us. 

There are limited spaces for the cooking workshop, the conference and the in-house tour. Therefore, it is first-come first-served for the cooking workshop and the conference. Don’t wait too long to register, because there are limited spots avaiable. We hope to see you soon! 

Note:

You will be informed whether you have been admitted to the cooking workshop, and/or the inhouse tour. Non-communicated no-shows or cancellations less than 48 hours in advance will be fined 30 euros.

This event's dress code is business casual.
