Hi there! My name is Linde Gietema, and I’m currently enrolled in the pre-master SCM and TOM. Since September, I have been an active member of TeMa and, together with my committee, I am organising this year’s weekend trip to Ghent.
Before joining TeMa, I was actively involved in my previous study association, S.V. Scopus, for Industrial Engineering and Management at Hanze. During that time, I participated in various committees and even completed a board year. That experience brought me so much joy and lifelong friendships, which made me curious to explore what TeMa had to offer.
My first impression of TeMa was very positive. It immediately looked like a fun and welcoming environment where everyone was open to having a conversation. My first TeMa activity was the Bozu Boat Tour, which was a great deal and a nice opportunity to visit a TeMa activity. With a small group of friends of my previous study, decided to join, and it felt very relaxed. What stood out to me was that at every activity, there are always people there to welcome you and strike up a conversation, which is something I really appreciate about TeMa. Now, I also enjoy making an effort to talk with people I haven’t spoken to as much during the socials, which adds to the experience.
The introduction activities at the start of this year, especially the Bozu Boat Tour, really got me excited and convinced me to join a committee. What I love most about TeMa is the relaxed and friendly vibe. Since we all study in the same fields, everyone shares similar interests and goals, making it easy to connect and feel at home.
Being part of a committee has been a fantastic experience. While we work on serious tasks like organising events and attending meetings, there’s also plenty of room for fun! Sometimes, we mix with other committees, creating opportunities to meet new people and build friendships. What makes TeMa even more special is its perfect blend of social and career-related activities. Through TeMa, I haven’t just made friends but also valuable connections that could be helpful for my future career. Plus, it’s all very manageable alongside my pre-master and busy social life.
