Hii! I’m Marèl Borghuis, 19 years old, and I’m from Twente. I’m currently in my second year of the bachelor Business Administration, following the Technology Management track. In October 2024, I became an active member of TeMa, a decision I have never regretted! It has brought me so much, both socially and professionally!

When I started my second year of studies, I was looking for more fun activities in Groningen and something to be more regularly involved in. What immediately attracted me to TeMa was the combination of social, study, and career aspects. My first introduction was during the BoZu Boat Tour, one of this year’s introduction activities. I went there alone, which I was a bit nervous about, but I instantly loved the atmosphere and the people! I felt very welcome and signed up for other introduction activities, and shortly after, I joined a committee. By now, I am part of TeMa’s most fun committee: the Sports Committee ;) We organize two sports events per year. The first one is already behind us, and we are currently busy preparing for the second one which will take place in May!

Besides our weekly committee evenings on Mondays, you can often find me at other TeMa activities. What I love is the perfect mix between learning about professional life, during events like the Inhouse Tour or the conference, and enjoying student life, for example, at the monthly socials.

Over the past few months, I have learned so much about my future career and opportunities that I would never have discovered otherwise. What makes TeMa truly special to me is how open and accessible the association is. You can choose which events to attend, and everyone is always up for a chat. Thanks to TeMa, I have not only gained valuable insights but also met amazing people and formed great friendships.
