1. Who are you?
Gwen, Junior Consultant at Emixa
2. What did you study and when were you active at TeMa?
Business Administration – Technology Management
Board year: 2021–2022
3. What was your favourite memory from your time at TeMa?
One of the most special outcomes of my time at TeMa was meeting my partner, whom I now live with. In addition, I really valued my board year. I learned a lot about myself, and I am still very close with my fellow board members.
4. How did TeMa contribute to your personal or professional development?
During my board year, I developed important leadership skills, which are also highly relevant in consultancy. Additionally, my experiences within the board and committees were very valuable to reflect on during job interviews.
5. How did your TeMa experience help shape the start of your career?
The experiences I gained at TeMa helped me clearly articulate my skills and learning moments during job interviews. While I did not directly find a job or internship through TeMa connections, the experiences themselves were very valuable.
6. What are you currently working on?
At Emixa, I work on different projects that typically last four to five months. Currently, I am working as a test and train coordinator on an IT system implementation project. My role involves ensuring that the new system is properly tested and that employees are effectively trained to work with it.
7. What has been your favourite or most valuable work experience in your career?
The people I work with. There is an open culture with frequent feedback moments, which allows me to continuously learn and develop.
8. What advice would you give to current TeMa students?
Definitely do an internship. It helps you understand what you actually want in a future job, as opposed to what you think you want. It also gives you concrete experiences to reflect on during interviews, making it easier to clearly articulate your preferences and motivations.
9. What does TeMa mean to you now as an alum?
Above all, the sense of community. I am still very close with several people from TeMa.
