International Study Project (ISP) 2026
International Study Project (ISP) 2026
The International Study Project (ISP) is one of TeMa’s biggest study events, combining academic depth with international experience. Each year, a group of TeMa members travels to a European city to explore how organisations operate beyond the Dutch context, while also immersing themselves in the local culture. In 2026, the ISP will take us to Warsaw, one of Europe’s fastest-growing capitals!
The ISP will take place from Sunday, April 12th, until Sunday, April 19th, during the first week of period 2.2. During this week, we will gain insights into a wide range of organisations through company visits, a lecture, and discussions with professionals.
Company & Institutional Visits
During the trip, we will visit a range of companies and institutions active in different sectors. Examples include NewCold, a global leader in advanced cold chain logistics, and Impact Clean Power Technology, a technology company developing lithium-ion battery systems for electric heavy-duty vehicles and industrial energy storage. In addition, the programme includes a visit to the Dutch Embassy in Poland and an academic lecture at a local university, providing complementary institutional and theoretical perspectives.
Theme
Growing Warsaw: Building resilient and innovative operations in a rising economy.
This theme will be explored through three subthemes:
1. Resilience in Warsaw
2. Digitalisation and smart growth
3. Sustainability in an emerging market
Before the visit, a limited amount of preparation will be required to ensure a basic understanding of the organisations and topics involved. After returning to the Netherlands, participants will work on an assignment connected to the organisations and themes encountered during the ISP. You will collaborate in a group of three and present your findings to the rest of the participants.
Of course, the ISP is about more than academics alone. Alongside the study programme, there will be plenty of time to experience Warsaw’s culture, nightlife, and history, as well as free moments to explore the city on your own.
Participation & Selection
A total of 30 participants will join the ISP. Due to the limited number of available spots, a selection procedure will take place
The participation fee is €250 (Note: the first half of the fee will be debited in March). This fee includes:
- Accommodation in a hostel
- Transportation to Warsaw, company visits, and free public transport within the city
- Breakfast
- Dinner
- Exciting (secret) activities
- An unforgettable week together!
Selection will be based on the motivation letter submitted before the application deadline. In this letter, participants are required to
- Complete the Belbin Team Role Test
- Indicate their strongest and weakest Belbin team roles
- Briefly reflect on whether they recognise themselves in these roles
- Indicate their preferred subtheme, including a short motivation
- Explain their overall motivation for participating in the ISP
Please note that the outcome of the Belbin Team Role Test does not determine whether you will be selected to participate. The results will be used solely to form balanced groups for the study assignment. The Belbin test and the preference for the subtheme must be submitted in a separate document from the general motivation explaining why you want to participate
Application deadline: March 8th, 23:59
If selected, please keep Monday, March 16th, free in the evening for the introduction meeting and training. Further details will follow. A mandatory closing session will take place on Wednesday, May 13th, in the afternoon.
