Alumni Committee

To maintain the bonding between our current members and our alumni, there is Alumni Committee. Alumni can create a bridge between the students and the business community by sharing their experiences and network. The Alumni Committee organizes the Network Activity, aimed to expand your professional network. Furthermore, it is responsible for the regular Alumni Activity which is organized annually. Our network of alumni is still growing, making this committee become more and more important. It supports the board with creating more value for our Alumni members with their ideas.

The Alumni committee of '23-'24:

  • Gijs Boeve
  • Liesbeth Bouwmeester
  • Koen Terpstra
  • Bert Stellema
  • Nils Breijnaerts
  • Ruben Sieljes

Gijs Boeve

My name is Gijs Boeve and in 2021 I graduated in the study Supply Chain Management. In September that year I joined consultancy firm Valcon (maybe better known as the former First Consulting). Currently I’m working on a project where we make a dashboard for our client which gives them better insights into their project performances. It contains a good mix of all things I’ve learned in my study. To get even more ‘mix’ in my life I joined the Alumni Committee. After doing some committees and being part of the Board 2019-2020 I couldn’t leave TeMa behind. It’s an honor to organize the alumni- and networking event in the coming year for all Alumni of TeMa. Hopefully we can meet all of you in person during a good old-fashioned TeMa drink!

Liesbeth Bouwmeester

I spent seven years in the wonderful city of Groningen, where I started the BSc Economics & Business Economics. After loads of committee work and a board year, I decided to continue my study career with the MSc Technology & Operations Management in 2020-2021. I joined TeMa, where I was part of the Media Team. Quickly, I noticed how fun and valuable both social and formal activities were. This encouraged me to continue an active membership. During the thesis project, I decided to explore the job market and ended up at NRG-Office Amsterdam (via TeMa!). This is where I am currently employed as (interim) Supply Chain Professional. This means that I can fulfill different functions at different employers in projects of usually 3-12 months, where the only focus is the field of Food & Industry. It is a great way to gain supply chain experience of all possible ERP-systems within both small family companies and multinationals. Currently, I am guiding a unique phaseout project at a global, privately-owned company focused on innovating, optimizing and managing the supply chains of leading brands. Hit me up if you want to know more!

Koen Terpstra

My name is Koen Terpstra and member of the Alumni Committee for the 2021-2022 study year. I joined TeMa in 2020 when I started my Supply Chain Management master, and decided to immediately become an active member. I was part of the social committee that year, which proved to be quite challenging! Last year and this year are very much different from other years in the sense that fun activities needed to mostly be organized online. Regardless of this challenge, the activities we set up last year, and activities we will set up this year were and will be fun. For example, the online pub quiz we made, or the Hooghoudt jenever tasting! Of course, because I am an Alumni committee member it means I graduated. I am currently working as a Supply Chain Trainee at M&G Group to solve warehousing and inventory issues on a project-by-project basis. Interesting topics such as creating a methodology for classifying semi-finished goods in the factory through the ABC classification.

Bert Stellema

Hello everyone, my name is Bert Stellema and I am an Alumni member of Tema. When I moved to Groningen and started with the pre-master Technology & Operations management I immediately joined TeMa. It was very nice to meet all the great people and soon I joined the international committee as chairman. It was a wonderful time and we organized some nice events. Unfortunately, Corona made some small changes and we had to shift towards online meetings. During my master's I joined the social committee as a general member and had an amazing time as well. All the events were online but we still had a lot of fun. After my graduation, I started working as a trainee for YER and got a job at Bekaert in Assen. As a Supply Chain Engineer I am responsible for projects and tasks that improve our planning, production, delivery and performance globally.

Nils Breijnaerts

My name is Nils Breijnaerts, I started my pre-master TOM about 2,5 years ago after finishing my studies in Automotive Engineering. A half year ago I finished the master TOM and now I'm working as a Mechanical Engineer at VIRO Groningen. The current project I'm working on is designing the steel and aluminum construction of a super yacht. I joined the Alumni Committee because I enjoyed being part of a committee for the past 2 years at TeMa. The past 2 years I have been the treasurer of the International Committee. I hope that despite all restrictions we can organize two amazing events for the TeMa alumni. Looking forward to meet you all!
